Stack-N-Whack | Part 4

I know, I KNOW! I started this quilt more than a year ago. This is not, however, typical quilting behavior for me. Usually, I am a pretty fast and committed sewer, but - if you'll recall - I had a pretty busy year. Now that I have more free time on my hands, I've spent some quality time with my sewing machine and am pleased to announce that I have completed all of my Stack-N-Whack squares!

At this point, the quilt top will be about 63 x 75 inches without a border, but I'll probably add one that is 4 or 5 inches wide. Thirty-two 12.5 inch blocks down, zero to go. Now to put it all together! Once I've finished the top, I dream of getting it quilted by a long-arm machine so that it has a more whimsical quilting pattern, rather than just straight, boring lines. This could will be expensivo... unless I learn how to free-arm it myself, and to be honest, I'm not really up for the challenge this summer. We'll see what the old budget allows. Here are a few of the 32 squares, no two of which are the same.

Love it! Isn't it ever so much fun to see what patterns can be made using repeated prints?

It's worth it to get it quilted and DONE if that is your desire.

I am so thoroughly impressed with you for restarting! I'm still hiding from my old knitting projects. Then again, they don't look half as cool as your quilting projects!

I was having a conversation with someone about your quilting the other day and we decided you make quilting cool. Um. You know what I mean. your quilts look trendy and modern on comparison to some of my grandma's. :)

and by the way, I don't know how I could get this for you, but I have a good friend with a long arm machine. She has quilted one for me, actually two for me. Maybe there's a way...
