Stack-N-Whack | Part 3

For those of you waiting with baited breath for a quilting update, today is your lucky day! I have been working slowly but surely on my 32 Stack-N-Whack quilt blocks over the past several weeks. I have some new-found space in my apartment where I can keep my sewing machine out and plugged in, so I hope to progress a little faster this month. So far - shame on me - I only have 9 completed blocks.

It takes about 30 minutes for me to complete one 13 inch square, due to all the careful ironing involved. Below are some pictures of the piecing process and few of the completed blocks. You like?

Check out more photos here.

That's amazing! Good work. And yes I love it. :) I'm starting to realize there's some great fabric out there.

Yummy!

Just curious...will all the outside corners with different prints come together (once rotated with the corner blocks matching) so that a tricky block appears where the viewer can't tell what the original block was? Do you get what I'm saying?

I know what you mean, but no, the background fabrics will not line up. There won't be any illusion that they are the main blocks...does that make sense? That would make arranging the quilt top simpler though, wouldn't it?! :)

Wow! Ever since Amy told me about this project the last time I saw her, I would keep checking to see if the latest on the quilt was posted, and today was definitely my lucky day! I love the fabrics and I can see how it would take a while to get everything lined up and ironed. I can't wait to see the finished product. I love the blocks and the fabrics are great!! I hope to someday get to Chicago, not only to see all you guys, but to check out the Quiltology store! Ahhhh...someday!
