Bring It On

Hello. My name is Sarah and I'm in love with my vacuum cleaner. We have a lot of hardwood floors in our house. I love them... I really do, but my trusty old broom and dustpan weren't cutting it for me anymore. In general, household cleaning fads and gimmicks don't take hold of me too easily and I like to stick with the basics. Pine-Sol, a bucket and a mop, Ajax, and vinegar have always done the trick. I don't care how good of a sweeper you are, unless you have mysterious powers, you just can't completely clean a messy floor with a broom.

Enter the Shark Stick Vac. Possibly the best $20 I've ever spent, and I'm not even kidding. This lightweight baby sucks it all up, no problem. I'd love to hear from someone who doesn't love this vacuum, because I don't think that they could possibly exist. It may look and sound cheap, but it is quality with a capital Q.

Bring on the dirt, sand, and pet hair, Springtime... the Johnson house is armed and waiting.

I'm in love with my vacuum cleaner too. My grandma had given us hers, which was good but just broke for a second time. Instead of getting it fixed again, we went to buy a new one and decided to spend a little extra for a refurbished Dyson. Seriously, the thing's amazing. When you have carpet, you want one.

Haha! I love it! Isn't it funny how excited we can get over "domestic" things around the house. I remember the day we got our fancy vacuum. It was like Christmas. In our old apartment, we only had hardwood floors so we used a little vacuum. Now that we have an apartment that is wall to wall carpeted (and we have two shedding pets) our big one is the most amazing thing ever!

The Stick Vac is indeed the best $20 I've ever spent... especially on a cheap piece of plastic. I'm amazed those wheels stay on!

Good to know! I really get disgusted when I have to clean off the bottom of the broom...

You made me want to get my vacuum cleaner and clean...that that is rather hard to do!

I have all hardwood now and the Hoover Hard Floor Cleaner changed my life. I couldn't handle the mop. It seemed like I was spreading dirty water around. This baby picks up a frightening amount of filth. It's at once scary and satisfying to how much it actually cleans. Vacuums don't cut it for me anymore.

When I was in the market for a stick vac a couple of months ago, I shied away from the Shark for two reasons - it was only $20 and Shark is a relatively new name. Eh, live and learn. Maybe next time.

I bought one made by Eureka for $40. It is the most hideous color purple ever but works well. It's also rechargeable, so no cord worries.

Sounds like the perfect solution. I've been looking for something like it for a while but they seemed too pricey. $20 is right up my alley! Thanks for the suggestion.

I could say this post just sucks...but I won't! Because, though its "featured guest" does, it wouldn't be nice to get crass.
