Two of my very best friends are pregnant....one with a baby boy and one with a baby girl, both due to grace us with their presence in late September/early October. Despite the fact that I have two crib-sized quilt tops completed, they have not yet been quilted, thus I threatened to come empty handed to a little impromptu shower we had for them over the weekend together. Who in their right mind comes to a baby shower without a gift?! I wanted to make a little something homemade for the babes in place of my unfinished quilts.
Every messy eater and drooly teether needs a few bibs, right? I used Amy Karol's Simple Bib from her book Bend-the-Rules Sewing: The Essential Guide to a Whole New Way to Sew and here are the goods, ready for an eventual barrage of drool and pureed baby food.

Those bibs were so adorable.
If I invite you over for lobster, will you make ME some bibs?? :) Those are beautiful, Sarah. I'm sure your friends were very appreciative - and that their stylin' babies will be, too, when they get to wear them!
Those are the perfect gift. As the mother of both a messy eater and a drooly teether I can tell you that they will be greatly appreciated!
Those are great--and yes, babies go through many bibs in a day, so they're a perfect present!
my friend who is helping my with the apron made soren and some other babies these same bibs. i love it. it's a great size!
How funny, we have the same name and I recently made some of those bibs in some of the same fabrics...
Yours look super cute!
Can't wait to explore your blog further.
Amy Butler Bibs!?!?! I LOVE it!! Those are going to be some very chic babies!
Came across your blog from sew mama sew, cool stuff!
Very Chic for babies. Love it!
I love the bibs! Really! They are gorgeous (I'm a friend of Melissa's)
Even more excited to see the quilts for these little ones. I'm jealous!
I'm so going to make some of these for presents. I came across your blog via Sew Mama Sew!
These bibs are so adorable. My daughter has 2 1/2 year old quadruplets -- and an older son who just turned 4. She has gone through TONS of bibs these past few years -- these would have been so cute on them.

Cute bibs. For very hip and trendy babies! Great job!
I left you a little something on my blog - you'll have to go check it out!
I love the fabric you chose for these bibs! They are adorable! Great job!
Can I commission you to make one for Sanne that is actually long enough to cover her blessed long torso and purtruding belly?!
They are beautiful! Etsy.com is calling your name!
The bibs are absolutely adorable!
you should open your own business. i mean seriously. you make the most precious things ever.
Gorgeous bibs! Love your fabric choices - they will be the most stylish babies around!
ahh! Love them. Did you put a batting or something inside? I couldn't decide when I did mine and ended up not. Now I'm afraid that they will leak through. thoughts?
Hmm... I didn't add any batting, but that would have been a grand idea. See how little I know about kids?! :) I don't think that the pattern calls for it, but it should have!
Yeah the pattern didn't call for it, but I was trying to think of a way to make it more absorbent. I was thinking about making the back a terry cloth towel next time. Absorbent and still use fun fabrics on the front! what do ya think?
