Why So Serious?

Early this morning, 12:02 AM to be exact, we went to see The Dark Knight in all its glory. I'm telling you, go see this movie! The late, great Heath Ledger served up a chilling performance and trumped even the best of Jokers played in the past. Christian Bale, my childhood crush (I still can't believe we never met and fell in love), thrilled the audience as he donned his bat-suit once again. Chicago, our fair city, shined on the silver screen.

Why are you still sitting there?! You should be on your way to the theater!

We went to see it on Saturday afternoon. Steven wasn't aching to go but I really wanted to. I walked out in a little bit of shell-shock, while he's been raving about it non-stop. Go figure!

Went last night with my son. It was his second time, his first time being the midnight preview show. Had to cover my eyes for some of the vertigo/dizziness inspiring scenes (also for some of the "uh-oh-look-out-here-it-comes" scenes).
Heath Ledger was magnificent. Every time I think of him, I'm saddened by the loss of such a talent, and grieved at the thought of the pain he must have been in.
And did anyone else think the voice Batman used was just icky?

Steve's take on Christian Bale's voice is that Batman is deteriorating into a version of himself he doesn't want to become, and that his voice is harsh as a reflection of that. I agree that it was a bit distracting to not be able to understand what he was saying, but I see Steve's take on it too.

I'm here to echo the sentiment that Batman's voice was a distraction. Interesting take by Steve, but either I'm too slow or it was too subtle for me to figure out. Otherwise great flick. My favorite of the Batmans so far.
