I found this free Amy Butler pattern, but I'm wondering if it looks more like an alien/Pokémon cat of sorts. I don't want to scare the poor kid, but I want to follow through on my delivery of an orange stuffed cat. What do you think? Cat or Alien? Anyone know of a pattern that is a little more cat-like out there, but still cool?
Oh my gosh! I don't know if it's a cat or an alien, but I love it! What a keen color sense on that girl...
ReplyDeleteA quick google gave me:

I like it! I think kids can be very liberal about their interpretation of what things look like. I bet she'll love it!
ReplyDeleteBTW: First time commenter. Love the blog!
I think it is an alien cat, but I think she'll love it. It is super cute, even if it does have some alien qualities.
ReplyDeleteI have made about 4 of these for my daughters friends for birthdays and I have to say that they were all a huge hit! They are so much fun. I have a 4 year old niece, 6 & 9 year old daughters and 2 year old twins all girls and they all loved them.
ReplyDeleteI think it's adorable - can't see any reason for her to be freaked out by it! How can you resist those eyes? :D
ReplyDeleteThat cat is soooooooo cute! Maybe it's a cat from outer space?
ReplyDeleteI think it's cute!
ReplyDeleteI say alien cat. A super cute alien cat.
ReplyDeletealienish... but she would enjoy it anyway...
ReplyDeleteIt's cute! She's going to love it! How could she not love something made by her dear Aunt Sarah? Plus, it's exactly what she "ordered."
ReplyDeleteJanine
I think it's really cute! And what she requested - that's gotta count :)
ReplyDeleteI think it is super cute, combo cat/alien:)
ReplyDeletevery cute, Sarah! I love it.
ReplyDeleteI second Jen's comment: Alien Cat! I love it.
ReplyDeleteAHHHHH!!!! THEY'RE INVADING!
ReplyDeleteOuter space kitty in an awesome color combination!
ReplyDeleteThat is sooooooooo cute! I wasn't sure about the orange/purple combo, but it's fabulous...thanks for sharing;)
ReplyDeleteI say its a alien cat,
ReplyDeletePerhaps it would be more obvious as a cat if you put whiskers on the creature.

I love this pattern. I downloaded it a while ago and just haven't gotten around to making it. It does look like an alien, but it's still really cute!
ReplyDeleteThe space cat you made is adorable, but if you would like to try another pattern, have you seen the "Pointy Kitty" by Wee Wonderfuls? It's here:

I think he's cute! And orange - for all those orange people out there! Maybe you could just draft a bigger body for that head.
ReplyDeleteAsk her.
ReplyDeleteit makes me laugh! I just want to say, "Meow....take me to your leader." Janine, let us know what she names it!
ReplyDeleteit does look a little like a japanese craft-style cat. I love it, and the amy butler you used!
ReplyDeleteon a side note, I do think we may be separated at birth! My family isn't as hard core swedish as your in-laws, but we did take a trip there and stay with family, does that count?? so next trip will be up on the northside! My mom will love it!!
I'm a little late, but thought I'd chime in...it appears everything you make is adorable Sarah, she will love it...even if it does look a little alien-ish! And great color choice indeed! :)
ReplyDeleteI love it too....I think it looks enough like a cat, that she won't care at all. It's fantastic!
ReplyDeleteShe definately chose wonderful colours!
