Baby in the House

Hey all, TK here. I thought I'd give Sarah a much needed break from many things, including her blog. We're sitting here together with our baby boy who is now two weeks old. We're the very proud parents of Sawyer Timothy who is, by all accounts, perfect.

At 37 weeks pregnant I suggested that we might want to start thinking about packing a hospital bag. We ended up at Swedish Covenant Hospital two hours later and were shocked to learn it was no false alarm. The little guy wanted out. With zero labor/delivery classes under our belts, no crib built, and his room in shambles, we were told we wouldn't be leaving the hospital without a baby. We were true rookies.

Sarah braved the labor without an epidural or any pain medication. I'm crazy proud of her, due to her normal wussiness in general. Among other things, she's talented at birthing too.

Today is our 2nd anniversary...I love my wife. And it's Sawyer's 3rd week alive...I love my son.

  5. what a beautiful baby. I remember last December when my nephew came to the world - nearly four hours plus he would look at the world around him and now, he would not even wake up until he's really hungry.

  6. Congratulations to you both on the safe arrival of your son! Enjoy every precious moment. This post bought back memories for me. My first daughter was 3 weeks early. I worked right up until the day she was born as I had just gone to the hospital for a check-up but the kept me in to have a caesarian birth. We were so not ready to have our daughter. We did have a crib and a few clothes but that was about it. Thanks for sharing your news.

  13. I also snorted at the "wussiness" line :) Dude, she can't be too wussy, she agreed to marry YOU! (Sarah, bring Sawyer over to our house while TK is working...we'll get him used to the sound of the chop saw!)

  35. I know most people say a new born is so beautiful and wonderful, but face it, most of them look like Winston Churchill, but I must say, your little boy is the exception to the rule. He is so cute. He is like the poster child for perfect little newborn's. Congratulations.
