Feathery Friends

I saw this pattern the other day and thought it'd be fun to whip up a little bird. It was so easy and fast that I made three feathery friends. I'm not sure what I'll do with them yet, but it was hard to stop making them. It's a perfect use for your scraps and takes all but minutes to finish. I've seen them as Christmas tree decorations or as parts in a mobile. I think they're adorable. For the free pattern, click here.

  1. They turned out great (I have visions of bird ornaments for gifts next year...is it too early to be thinking about that?)

  6. Wow, these are precious. I'm wanting to relearn my sewing machine this coming year, and I think you're going to be a big part of that. Thanks for all of your great ideas! I can't wait to come back and visit more!

  7. Adorable! I never learned how to sew, but was just told last night by some good friends that they think I'd enjoy it and be good at it. I've downloaded the pattern and might have to give it a try sometime.

  10. How did you stick them suckers on the branch?!? They are too cute. Suddenly I am thinking about the Monty Python skit about the dead parrot!

  11. Ha! I secured them with some thread...which was a chore. Much like the dead parrot owner, I'm sure. :)

  12. Sarah!! So funny to see this on your blog. I am just about to undertake this as my first ever sewing project. I'm making a mobile for my soon to be niece/nephew!! Now I know where to turn if/when I have problems. I'm so excited!

  15. Those little birds are so cute. I'm in love with little birdies lately. I know I'm late on commenting. I'm just getting a little caught up. I'm out of town right now and life hasn't had my normal schedule since Christmas!
