I like flea markets and thrifting as much as the next crafty girl, but in my heart of hearts, I really am a sucker for Crate and Barrel. I found these dishtowels on sale there the other day and I instantly knew that they could find a happy home "reupholstering" our kitchen chairs. They were the perfect size, color, and weight for re-covering the chairs...hardly your average dishtowel.
Of course, I wouldn't mind if they were a darker stain, but beggars can't be choosers. My updated chairs make me smile every time I pass the table!
I don't know if I've ever told you how much I love your blog... but I do! And your chairs!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
ReplyDeleteI love repurposing materials like that! And your blog is really fun. I like to sew, but only feel confident doing straight lines, so I've done curtains, pillows, duvets, and a quilt. I had one disastrous go of it with a dress pattern once. Your blog is an inspiration!
ReplyDeletelove the napkins you chose. it looks great.
ReplyDeleteNicely done!
ReplyDeleteYour creativity makes my head spin. Napkins?! Seriously, you deserve a cape and a tiara. A quilted cape that you create, of course. ;)
ReplyDeleteThey look great and if they make you smile then it's all good. Great Job!
ReplyDeleteI know that I have thought many times about recovering things to update them (my mom did it all the time growing up) but I never would have looked at pretty dish towels and thought to put them on my chairs. Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI love repurposing linens. I made pillows for my couches out of placemats and napkins!
ReplyDeleteI'm in the process of redoing my outdoor cafe table and chairs. Isn't it nice to just freshen something up? It's a lot cheaper than buying something completely new.
The chairs look great! Very pretty napkins. It is wonderful that you have taken something old and have made it new. That is a great way to recycle!
ReplyDeleteYour chairs love great, nice choice of fabric. And your blog is really good. Lots of fun to read. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteditto to megan's comment. :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it cool to freshen up your home with simple means? The chairs look great!
